Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway!

Karli Gordon and Jaine Lindsay of the Pomona Valley National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) reached out recently to Mr. TeDese Ross to offer turkeys and meals to families of our students at Canyon Oaks High School. Mr. David Duisberg, Mr. Randy Medina and Mr. Calvin McKendrick set out with Mr. Ross on Tuesday, November 24 to distribute the generous donations from NCNW. NCNW is a historic civil rights organization committed to advancing opportunities and improving the quality of life for African American women. NCNW’s mission is to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. However, they spread their mission and purpose far beyond those directly associated with their charter. On behalf of the entire Mountain Lion Pride , we would like to thank Mrs. Gordon and Mrs. Lindsay!

Ms. Christine Waszut has 35 years of experience in education. She has taught in LA unified, Pasadena unified a private school. She decided to be kinder to herself by becoming an aide to the teacher to provide extra support and input to our Special Education teacher Ms. Moraga. Born in Indiana, Ms.Wazut graduated from Purdue University. She is a loyal Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Cubs fan.
Her passion and drive come from the population of students that continues to amaze her. She has two daughters- one is a social worker and one is a veterinarian technician. She is hard-working, loves the brick and mortar teaching environment, and works directly with kids in the virtual learning platform on a daily basis.
